Overview

Xplore is Hope Lutheran’s Christ-centered track-out and school break camp designed for Pre-K through 5th grade students.

Campers spend their breaks in a safe, engaging environment where they build friendships, explore new interests, and stay active. Each week includes games, outdoor sports, nature walks, creative projects, science activities, and themed experiences.

We also pause twice daily for short devotions, helping campers grow in faith while having fun.

At Xplore, school breaks become something to look forward to.

Even during camp, faith remains part of the rhythm.

Each day includes a short devotion that encourages kindness, gratitude, and strong character. These moments are simple, engaging, and designed to meet campers where they are.

At Xplore, fun and faith go hand in hand.

Camp isn’t just about running — it’s about discovering.

Each week campers dive into hands-on activities that spark creativity and curiosity.

  • Art projects and themed crafts
  • Science experiments
  • Food creations
  • Building challenges
  • Group problem-solving activities

Whether your child loves to create, experiment, or lead, there’s something here for them.

Every camp week has its own theme — bringing fresh excitement, new activities, and creative twists to each session.

From high-energy adventure weeks to science exploration and creative challenges, themes help make every week feel unique.

  • Tennis shoes for active play
  • A complete change of clothes

Additional Notes

  • Campers will be outside daily (weather permitting), so please dress accordingly.
  • Personal items brought from home are the camper’s responsibility.
  • Weekly emails are sent the Friday before camp with reminders and theme details.

Food & Snacks

Campers stay active throughout the day — playing games, participating in activities, and spending time outdoors. Because of the energy they’re burning, they often feel hungrier than they might during a regular school day. Packing enough food helps keep campers energized, focused, and ready for fun.

We aim to be a peanut-free and tree nut-free facility to help protect campers with allergies. Please do not send snacks or lunches containing peanuts, tree nuts, Nutella, peanut butter, or products that list nuts as ingredients. Please send:

  • Full Day Campers: 2–3 snacks (morning, afternoon, optional extra) and a packed lunch
  • Morning Half Day Campers (8:00–12:30): 1–2 snacks and a lunch (lunch is eaten at camp)
  • Afternoon Half Day Campers (12:30–5:00): 1–2 snacks (lunch should be eaten at home before arrival)
  • Please label all lunch containers, water bottles, and bags clearly with your child’s name.

FAQs

  • What if I need to switch weeks?

We understand that schedules sometimes change. Any adjustments to registered camp weeks or days must be made through the Xplore Office and are subject to availability.

A $15 change fee applies to schedule adjustments. Please contact the office as soon as possible so we can assist you.

  • What if school closes for weather?

Xplore operates independently from Wake County Public Schools.

If inclement weather affects camp operations, families will be notified by email. In the event Xplore closes due to severe weather, families will receive a 50% credit toward future camp dates.

If camp opens on a delay or closes early, families remain responsible for the full camp fees according to their registration.

  • Do you follow Wake County weather schedule?

No. Xplore does not automatically follow Wake County Public Schools’ weather schedule.

Decisions regarding delays or closures are made based on the safety of our campus and road conditions. Families will be notified directly if changes occur.

  • Do families need to be Christian?

No. We welcome families from all backgrounds.

Xplore is a Christ-centered camp, and we include a short daily devotion focused on character, gratitude, and faith. Our goal is to create a welcoming and respectful environment for every camper.

  • How do I pay?

    MyProcare.com

Payment is due before your child’s first day of camp each week. A reminder email is sent mid-week. If payment is not received by Friday prior to attendance, a late fee may be applied.

Checks are also accepted and may be mailed or given to staff. (Cash is not accepted.)

  • What if my child has medical needs?

If your camper has a medical condition or requires medication during camp hours, please contact the Xplore Office before their first day.

Additional instructions and documentation may be required to ensure we can safely and properly care for your child. Our team works carefully with families to provide appropriate support whenever possible.
