Vacation Bible School
June 22-26, 2026
Children are not the church of tomorrow
— they are part of the church today.
Why it matters
At Hope Lutheran Church, Vacation Bible School is more than a fun summer event. It’s one of the ways we share the love of Jesus with children and families in our community.
Through Bible stories, music, games, crafts, and hands-on activities, kids experience Christ-centered joy while building friendships in a safe, welcoming environment.
Many families take their first step into church life through VBS, and those moments often grow into lasting faith, friendships, and belonging.

VBS Mission Project
Tri-Area Birthday Packs
During VBS this year, kids and families will help collect supplies for Tri-Area Birthday Packs, a local ministry that provides birthday celebrations for children whose families may not otherwise be able to celebrate.
Birthdays are a big deal for kids, and something as simple as cake mix, candles, and decorations can make a child feel seen, celebrated, and loved.
Throughout the week, VBS families will have the opportunity to bring in items that will be used to create birthday kits for local families. Together we can help make sure more children in our community get to experience the joy of a birthday celebration.
| Day of the Week | Supply to Bring |
|---|---|
| Monday | 9x13 Foil Pans |
| Tuesday | Box of Cake Mix |
| Wednesday | Container Icing |
| Thursday | Small Bag of Balloons |
| Friday | Birthday Candles |
Kids can also bring a cash donation instead.

Volunteer Prep & Work Days
VBS starts long before the first child arrives, and we need helping hands to help bring it all together.
Volunteer Prep & Work Days are a time for our church family to gather, prepare supplies, decorate spaces, organize materials, and get everything ready for an amazing week of VBS. Whether you can help for a short time or stay for the whole work session, every bit of help makes a difference.
No special skills are needed—just a willingness to pitch in and have a little fun while we prepare for VBS.

Support VBS
Because of the generosity of our church family and community, Vacation Bible School at Hope is able to welcome hundreds of children each summer for a week filled with faith, joy, and connection.
Every craft, snack, game, decoration, and activity helps create a space where kids can hear God’s Word, build friendships, and experience the love of Jesus in a meaningful way.
There are several ways you can help make VBS possible. Whether through financial gifts, donated supplies, or simple everyday items we can reuse creatively, your generosity helps bring this week to life for more than 500 children and volunteers.
VBS Giving
VBS GivingFinancial gifts help support the many parts of VBS that make the week meaningful for kids.
Donations help provide things like craft supplies, snacks, decorations, music resources, activity materials, and more. Our estimated cost is about $30 per child, and your generosity helps ensure that every child can participate regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
Every gift—large or small—helps create a welcoming, joyful environment where children can learn about Jesus and grow in faith.
Snack Donations
Snacks are an important part of the VBS experience. They give kids time to pause, connect with their group, and recharge before the next activity.
Each year, generous donations from our church family help make it possible to provide snacks for hundreds of children and volunteers throughout the week.
A snack donation list will be shared soon with opportunities to sign up and bring specific items.
Recyclable Materials
Some of the most creative parts of VBS come from items that might otherwise be thrown away.
Recycled materials are used for crafts, decorations, and hands-on activities throughout the week. What might look like everyday household items can become something special in the hands of our creative volunteers.
If you have materials that could be repurposed for VBS, we would love to hear from you. A full list of requested items will be shared soon.
