Youth Ministry at Hope is a place for middle school and high school students to grow in faith, build strong relationships, and discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Through connection, conversation, service, and fun, students are encouraged to ask real questions, deepen their faith, and know they belong in the church.

Youth Faith & Life
Middle School
Grades 6 - 8
Middle School is designed to meet students right where they are during this important season of growth and discovery.
Through age-appropriate teaching, discussion, games, and relationship-building, middle school students are introduced to foundational faith practices while learning how God’s Word connects to their daily lives.
This is also the stage where students begin exploring what it means to take ownership of their faith.
High School
Grades 9 - 12
High School focuses on helping students deepen their faith while navigating the challenges and opportunities of teenage life.
Through meaningful conversations, Scripture, service opportunities, and shared experiences, high school students are encouraged to live out their faith with confidence and purpose.
This ministry creates space for honest questions, leadership development, and strong community.

Growing in Faith
Sunday School
Sunday School is where our 6th–12th graders gather weekly for Bible study and discussion.
During this time, students explore Scripture together, build friendships, and grow in confidence in their faith.
Youth Sunday School meets every Sunday from 9:45–10:45 AM.
Wednesday Night Alive
During the Fall and Winter, Wednesday Night Alive (WNA) offers students a chance to gather midweek for dinner, connection, and deeper faith conversations.
Youth meet for study and discussion while also having opportunities to serve and lead within our church family.

Every stage of youth brings new growth. At Hope, we celebrate both the meaningful milestones within our Youth Ministry and the sacred Life Moments of the Church that shape a youth’s lifelong faith.

Senior Blessing:
Each June, we honor graduating seniors during worship.
Parents bring blankets as a symbol of love and prayer as we bless and send our seniors into the next chapter of life.

Life Moments
As students grow, the Church continues walking with them through sacred milestones rooted in Scripture.
Holy Baptism
Baptism is a gift for all ages. If a student has not yet been baptized, it is never too late to receive God’s promise of forgiveness and new life in Christ.
First Communion
Each spring, students may participate in First Communion instruction as early as 5th grade if they have not yet received it. Through thoughtful teaching, they learn what the Lord’s Supper means and why this gift of grace strengthens their faith.
Confirmation
Beginning as early as 6th grade, Confirmation is a two-year journey where students dig into Scripture, the Small Catechism, and the core teachings of the Lutheran faith. At the conclusion, students publicly reaffirm their Baptism — confidently confessing the faith into which they were baptized.
These moments are not just events — they are foundations that help students carry their faith into adulthood.

Parent Resources
Raising teens in faith is a team effort—and we want you on the team! Hope offers several ways for parents to support Youth Ministry and stay connected to their child’s spiritual journey:
Parents are invited to volunteer for youth events by chaperoning lock-ins, retreats, or helping with fun outings like movie nights, scavenger hunts, and service days. Parents can also join a Youth Ministry Team (YMT), helping plan and shape youth events. Separate teams serve Middle School and High School and meet bi-monthly.
Opportunities are also available to participate in Parent Panels, where parents can share wisdom or learn from others on topics such as teen anxiety, faith practices at home, and preparing for life after high school. Parents may also lead a devotion or share their faith story—youth value hearing from trusted adults in the congregation.
Most importantly, parents are encouraged to show up—attend family nights, confirmation milestones, and worship together. Your presence makes a meaningful difference.
