Makayla Nicotera
Family Ministry Coordinator
Makayla Nicotera serves as Family Ministry Coordinator at Hope Lutheran Church, where she leads ministry efforts for children from birth through 8th grade, as well as Hope’s college ministry, BREW. A longtime member of Hope, Makayla has been part of the church family for over a decade and joined the staff in 2022. She is currently pursuing her path to become a commissioned Director of Christian Education (DCE) in the LCMS.
Makayla is known for her enthusiasm, creativity, and deep love for helping young people grow in faith. She finds great joy in seeing children light up as they learn about Jesus and believes every step in their spiritual journey matters. Makayla is married to her high school sweetheart, Jonathan, and together they share a heart for ministry and community. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, crafting, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Hurricanes, and making homemade bagels.
Makayla is inspired by Psalm 139:14—“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” She believes there’s always joy to be found in God’s grace, even in life’s challenges, and she loves being part of a community that reflects that joy.
