Notes from Pastor Cosgrove – April 2013
Dear People of Hope, In April we, as a church body, are going to concentrate on stewardship and what that means as it relates to the giving of our time, talents and treasure. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 says,
“Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all contentment in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” We are to give what God has blessed us with out of response, not reluctance or compulsion. What we give is not only money, but of ourselves wholly and completely with cheerfulness in our hearts to Him who gives us everything. God’s grace comes to us in abundance, enabling us to abound in every good work. Good works, service, to others is a result of His love to us and at Hope we have many opportunities to serve. And it is my prayer that everyone finds a place to serve their Lord by serving others. I am excited about the Brushed With Kindness Event that is coming on April 26 and 27.
