Service Opportunities at Hope Lutheran Church
MONTHLY FOOD COLLECTION
In august the food collection is peanut butter and jelly.
Feeding the Faith ChristCare Group, as part of their service project, are collecting non-perishables for Wake Forest’s Tri-Area Ministry which provides food for the needy in the community. In May the collection is Peanut Butter and Jelly. This seems to be a very popular item that the leaders of Tri-Area have indicated they can’t keep on the shelves. So please support Tri-Area by placing your non-perishable donations in the white wicker basket in the Gallery.
BROWN BAG MINISTRY
Your Help Is needed!
The Brown Bag Ministry at Hope is growing and has become quite large for only three leaders to manage. The team is looking for additional leaders to help with some of the responsibilities of coordinating and managing the days of distribution (1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month) Contact Debbie Irgens at jcirgens@earthlink.net or Kristan Price at kristanjprice@yahoo.com or Nancy Repak at kapernan@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping with this growing and fruitful ministry.
Current needs include: Captain wafers, juice boxes, cereal bars, and pop tarts.
The Fellowship Team Needs You!
If you have a heart for service, or outreach to those who may not understand God‘s love for them, then please consider being on the Service/Outreach Team.
The team meets once every other month with the purpose of focusing on the congregation‘s ministry opportunities of care and concern for members and community with an outreach perspective and spirit:
- Determining the functionality of current service/outreach ministries in light of Hope’s mission, vision and values.
- Analyze new opportunities as they present themselves and determine if they meet the criteria set forth by the mission, vision and values of Hope.
- Identify and promote ways for members to become involved in, and/or supportive of ministry opportunities within the community and/or within the membership of Hope.
- Determine and promote creative ways for different service/outreach opportunities to take root at Hope.
As you can see this team focuses on the bigger picture of Service/Outreach at Hope, helping to create an atmosphere of serving and outreach to those in our community and at large. Your Help is Needed! Evening Hosts/Hostesses
The level of evening activity at Hope is a blessing that calls for a host/hostess to be at the Church Office Reception Area to direct participants to events, answer the telephones, and provide assistance and security as needed. This area of service also includes locking the facility at the close of the evening.
If you can serve during the hours of 6:00-9:00PM on one of the evenings, Monday—Thursday, your help will be greatly appreciated. If you can step up and volunteer, contact Shannon Janosko, Parish Administrator (email sjanosko@hopelutheranwf.org or 554-8109).
